Sheltered from prevailing winds due to curved shape of bay

Surf factor – Gets some waves but few to no rips

Rips – Be careful when big waves, keep away from right side of beach where water goes back out to see. Rips also form randomly along the beach

Las Cucharas Beach

Playa Las Cucharas is the largest beach of Costa Teguise. This large beach is made of of three smaller beaches. These beaches, especially at the Southern most end, are backed by a promenade with a large selection of shops and bars.

These are typically the busiest in Costa Teguise. They are safe and nice sandy beaches and clear water.

This beach is also one of Europe’s premier Windsurf spots. Windsurfers launch from the beach and head outside the bay area to the more exposed windy offshore spot.

There are sun beds that can be hired by the day, with lots of local shops and bars this can be a very comfortable spot to kick back and relax.
