The Canary Island government have authorised a free insurance for all visitors if they get the Corona Virus whilst on holiday. The insurance will cover medical costs and repatriation.
This cover has been created in a bid to enhance travellers confidence for travelling to Lanzarote. Cases of the virus are declining rapidly after a brief second wave. At time of writing there are four people in hospital and 113 in home isolation.
The government funded insurance covers all international and Spanish visitors to all islands.
Life on Lanzarote is currently quiet but normal. Wearing of masks is required in all public places but plenty of bars and restaurants are open and a very enjoyable holiday can be had.
