Playa Los Charcos

Full guide to Playa Los Charcos

Playa de los Charcos is the most Northern of the four beaches in Costa Teguise.

The beach is found inside the shelter of two sea walls. At high tides the water laps against the near white sand. At low tide entry to the sea is across some rocks.

The far left end of the beach is best for sunbathing and water entry at any tides. This area is more sheltered from winds even on windier days.

This beach is a bit of a hidden gem. Ample parking is next to the beach. There is real grass with lots of shade from the trees.

Best enjoyed from mid to high tide

Swimming in the bay is safe as waves and current cannot get in through the small gap in the sea wall.

A relatively quiet beach by Costa Teguise standards with nearby parking.

Sports at Los Charcos beach

Los Charcos is avery good location for Wing foiling and wind surfing. The adjacent car park gives great access and ease to set up equipment and enter the sea. Access to the water is across the beach and over a rocky bottom but on the whole easy and smooth.

Wind generally blows across the beach from the left making it easy to navigate straight out to sea and back

There is also a surfable wave that often breaks between the two sea walls at higher tides.

Access
Parking is via the adjacent car park. Access is very good from car park or along the Costa Teguise promenade.

Summary
Playa de los Charcos is a nice family and sports beach. Best enjoyed from mid to high tide. Less busy than other Costa Teguise beaches.
