The island of La Graciosa is a must see for anyone on holiday Lanzarote.
To get there take the ferry from Orzola to La Graciosa. The journey time is just 30 minutes. The boat service to Graciosa starts at 8.30am and runs approximately every hour until the last ferry at 7pm.
For the return ferry trip it costs just 28 euros per adult and 15 euros for children.
Journey distance is seven kilometers.
The voyage alone is amazing with dramatic views of the Mirador cliffs and Graciosa island itself. The ferry boat has an open top where you can sit and get the very best views possible.
Graciosa ferries run all day and can be booked online or at the ticket office in the Orzola harbour.
Orzola is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Northern tip of Lanzarote. The town has just one main road leading to the harbour. On the main road are a number of amazing restaurants specialising in traditional Canarian food, especially fish.
Near the harbour to the left is lots of parking where you can leave your car and walk to the ferry docked in the harbour.
Once you buy your ticket and board the boat its a quick trip La Graciosa.
The island of La Graciosa is totally unspoilt. There is one town on the island and no cars except for the four wheel drive taxis that can take you around Graciosa.
You will arrive in the fishing harbour called Caleta de Sebo. Once off the ferry you are in town with some nice shops and restaurants. Graciosa is a small island with some lovely beaches and few people. The best beaches in La Graciosa are Playa Frances just outside town to the west. Arguably the most beautiful and unspoilt beach on the island is Playa Concha found on the other side of the island. You can take a taxi or a thirty minute walk to get there. The beach has golden sands and clear blue seas with few other people around.
At the end of they day take your ferry back to Orzola and treat yourselves to a fresh fish meal in Orzola.
To see La Graciosa you need a full day, or more if you wish. Driving time from Puerto del Carmen to Orzola is around thirty minutes. Driving to Orzola from Playa Blanca will take around one hour.
