Introduction
La Caleta beach is a small and little known beach on the North East coast of Lanzarote.
The beach opens into a sheltered bay
There is lots of parking in car park on other side of the main road.
Location
Take the main LZ1 road along the coast to Orzola. The beach is about four kilometres North from Jameos del Agua. Park on the large car park to the left of the main road. Walk along main road then right onto a path to the beach
About La Caleta beach
Very few people visit La Caleta beach due to its size and the fact it’s hard to see from the road.
The beach exists of white sand and some stone shelters with the odd tiny fishing boat.
La Caleta beach opens onto a sheltered bay good for swimming and snorkelling.
The beach access to the sea is a small sandy stretch of about 20 meters width. Entry to the sea is down this stretch of white sand. There are some rocks on entry to take a little care.
This south facing beach has good shelter from the wind especially once inside the stone rock shelters.
There are no other facilities so take plenty of water and suncream.
Conclusion
La Caleta beach is isolated and pretty. There is white sand and good sea access. If you like peace and nature you will like La Caleta beach.
